PDF are ideal for document sharing since they preserve the layout and content. However, without the source file, the situation becomes more problematic when it comes to make adjustments. Despite the abundance of internet platforms that provide conversion services and other features, it’s normal to be wary of entrusting your valuable papers to an unknown site or having to pay for software or an application.

Recently, I had the pleasure of discovering a method that is both simple and free, and best of all, it does not require me to visit a plethora of websites or spend in premium software. All I have to do is log in to my Gmail account and follow a few simple steps.

Google Docs can convert PDF files to Word documents.

Have you ever needed to convert a PDF file to a Word document for school, employment, or another reason? It is not always possible to find a free and simple solution that does not require any installation. Personally, I’ve found that using my Google account is the most convenient way to do this, and I can guarantee you that it truly is a very simple and ultra-fast option.

Simply sign in to Gmail and navigate to Google Drive. Then you import the file into Google Drive by dragging and dropping it or selecting New then Import a file to locate the document on your computer. That’s all there is to it!

Simply double-click the document once it has been saved to Google Drive to open it. The Open with Google Docs option will display in the top center, and all you have to do is press it to make the file editable, after which you can make any necessary modifications with Google’s word processing tool.

After you’ve made your modifications, you can download or save a copy of the file to your online storage space. Locate the Download option in the File menu, and then select the file format you desire. In our example, we’ll use Microsoft Word (.docx), but you can also use PDF Document to make the document unchangeable.

This approach, one of many provided by the Google suite, is not only free and available to anybody with a Gmail account, but it also provides a complete solution for working from anywhere with an Internet connection.

For practical reasons, I’ve abandoned Microsoft Word in favor of Google Docs.
